Abstract: As a core course in Grassland Science，“Herbivore Feeding Science”holds significant importance in talent cultivation. However，traditional teaching models suffer from disconnections between theory and practice， monotonous teaching methods，and insufficient interdisciplinary integration. This paper，taking the curriculum reform at Yunnan Agricultural University as an example，explores a multifaceted integrated teaching approach：firstly， systematically incorporating ideological and political elements to cultivate students‘national pride，ecological civilization awareness，and professional responsibility；secondly，strengthening practical training and case analysis by establishing a three⁃tier progressive model of“basic experiments⁃comprehensive training⁃external practice”to enhance students’ability to solve real ⁃ world problems；thirdly，promoting interdisciplinary knowledge integration by combining feeding science with ecology，economics，food science，and information technology to broaden students ‘comprehensive literacy and innovative thinking. In a word，this teaching reform model effectively improves students’ professional skills，social responsibility，and interdisciplinary perspective，providing valuable insights for cultivating applied talents in animal husbandry.
