Abstract: The experiment aims to investigate the effects of adding 2% rosemary residue to the diet on reproductive performance including piglet birth weight and live birth rate in pregnant sows. Using a completely randomized experimental design,a total of 60 Large White × Landrace sows with consistent breed, parity, similar physical condition, and good health were selected for mating. They were divided into two treatment groups, the control group and the experimental group, with 30 sows in each group and one pig in each replicate. The average fat score of the two groups of sows was not significantly different(P>0.05). The control group of pregnant sows were fed a basic diet, while the experimental group was added 2% rosemary residue as a substitute for beet meal on the basic diet. The experiment lasted for 114 days. The results showed that using 2% rosemary residue in the diet of pregnant sows had no adverse effects on their reproductive performance and significantly reduce feed costs.
