Abstract: In recent years，with the rapid development of the pet industry in China，the number of pet hospitals is increasing，and pet medical talents have been in short supply. However，the proportion of college veterinary graduates choosing to engage in pet clinical diagnosis and treatment is very low. Therefore，the discussion mainly focused on the better training of pet medical talents majored in veterinary medicine in colleges and universities. Three aspects were addressed，including how to strengthen the clinical teaching，guide veterinary students to be actively involved in learning，and encourage veterinary students to take the initiative to intern and work at veterinary clinics. With more veterinary graduates choosing a career in pet clinical diagnosis and treatment，a healthy，stable，and sustainable development of the industry in pet clinical diagnosis and treatment will be promoted in China.
